The undergraduate program in Agroindustrial Engineering Food Industries aims to prepare professionals to apply mathematic, scientific, technological and instrumental knowledge to agroindustrial engineering; analyzing and processing raw materials related to the agroindustrial chain with emphasis on agrifood; using agroindustrial waste from agroindustries; lowering the levels of waste in the agroindustrial chains by using quality control techniques throughout the different phases of productive processes; solving logistic problems involving storage, distribution and balance of agroindustrial input; and analyzing the feasibility of agroindustrial projects with socioenvironmental responsibility.

Agroindustrial Engineers are professionals who develops leadership abilities, aiming to work for important Brazilian and multinational enterprises in the agroindustrial sector, i.e., professionals that, beyond their excellent qualification in regular engineering disciplines, mainly in those related to Exact Sciences, Chemistry and Food, they also have management abilities to propose innovative solutions in order to satisfy the increasingly demanding market. In order to do so, the degree program pursues an interdisciplinary-based education to develop interpersonal capacities and perform high quality technical, scientific and managerial activities.
