The undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering aims to train professionals to meet all the established requirements of the Curriculum Guidelines and developing a generalist, humanist, critical and reflexive profile, in order to provide graduates with all the competences and abilities demanded by the area; preparing engineers to identify, evaluate and solve problems, as well as to provide innovation and improvements by proposing technologies that fit the technical, political, economic, environmental and cultural aspects, according to the demands of the modern society.

Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering may work in the conception, projecting, fabrication, supervision and maintenance of machines and equipment, processes of energy generation, means of transport, turbines, ventilation and air-conditioning installation, hydraulic and thermal systems, compressors, boilers, elevators and mechanical systems for the most diverse needs; and elaborating and executing machine maintenance plans and mechanical installations.
