The Portuguese and Spanish undergraduate program aims to prepare teachers of Portuguese and Spanish languages, and corresponding literatures, to work at the various school levels, providing them with a practical and theoretical view for the classroom dynamics and the appropriate use of the Portuguese and Spanish Language in different discursive situations.

Licentiates in Portuguese and Spanish is qualified to practice teaching in Portuguese and Spanish Languages – in addition to their respective literatures – in Elementary School, High School, Higher Education and others. You may also work in providing revision, translation and linguistic and textual consulting services to publishers and companies.
Professional profile
Portuguese and Spanish teachers must have competence and qualification for the exercise of teaching, understanding and applying different theories and teaching methods that allow the didactic transposition of knowledge about language and literature. Also, you must develop abilities to use new technologies and perceive professional training as a continuous, autonomous and permanent process.
