The undergraduate program in Letters Portuguese and French aims to train teachers of Portuguese and French languages, and corresponding literatures, to work at all school levels, by providing them with a practical and theoretical view of language and literature in the classroom dynamics and the appropriate use of Portuguese and French in the many different discursive situations.
Graduates may teach Portuguese and French languages – and corresponding literatures – in Elementary School, High School, Higher Education and others. Also, you may work in providing services of linguistic and text consulting and proofreading for editors and companies, and translations. You will have the title of Portuguese and French teacher.
Portuguese and French teachers may have the skills to understand and apply different teaching theories and methods that allow the didactic transposition of their knowledge about language and literature. You may also develop abilities to use new technologies and understand professional education as a continuous, autonomous and permanent process.
