The undergraduate program in Biological Science aims to provide professionals with a broad view at all levels of biological organization; preparing professionals to act as teachers of Science and Biology, being aware of their social responsibility and trained to generate basis knowledge for teaching, scientific, technological and sociocultural activities; having graduates initiated into the scientific method; developing creativity, critical thinking and scientific reasoning; valuing the formative aspects; and encouraging the development of a professional and human attitude compatible with the current needs of society.
Biological Science professionals can work in teaching Science and Biology classes in the Basic Education (Elementary and High School); developing educational and research activities in schools, biological collections, museums, conservation units, NGOs and companies; and also in the elaboration of new teaching proposals for departments of education.
Educators of Biological Sciences are professionals qualified to develop basis knowledge for scientific, technological and sociocultural activities. In addition, you will be able to analyze and comprehend the ethical, social and environmental implications of scientific advances and their technological applications, in addition to proposing and assuming a dynamic teaching and learning process appropriate to different school realities for the education of Science and Biology.
